Frequently asked questions

A licence held for at least a year, the card the booking was paid with in the main driver’s name, and a passport or ID. Non-EU licences may need an International Driving Permit — the supplier’s conditions say so before you book.

Everything mandatory: taxes, airport surcharges, third-party insurance and any unavoidable local fee. The number you compare is the number on the voucher. Extras such as a child seat or an additional driver are shown separately.

Most rates are free to cancel up to 48 hours before pick-up, and you can filter to those before comparing. Changes to dates or location re-price the booking at the rate available that day.

The supplier blocks an amount on the main driver’s credit card at the desk and releases it after the car comes back undamaged — typically within 5 to 10 working days. Every deposit figure is shown on the car before you book, and some rates have none at all.

Yes, within the same country on most rates. Switch on “Drop-off at a different location” in the search and the one-way fee, where one applies, is already inside the total you compare.

Add your flight number at checkout and the supplier tracks it, holding the car for a late arrival at no extra cost. Without a flight number a desk will usually hold a booking for about two hours.
